I had my 2002 Trailblazer towed to Suddeth's in APR of 09 and authorized work to replace a bad starter. The total bill cost over 600$. After the work was complete I checked with the DEALER to see what they would have charged; A full 200$ less. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!!

We at Suddeth Automotive are committed to being fair and honest with our customers and work very hard to offer quality work at a competitive price. When I became aware of this concern I questioned my staff to get the details and called two local Chevrolet dealers to price a DELCO OE Starter, the same unit we installed on the 2002 Trailblazer (we believe this to be the best quality starter for this vehicle). The price quoted by the dealership for this part was higher than our price. I then talked to the service desk at both dealerships to get a phone estimate for the total repairs and was told they could give me only a rough estimate on labor costs, but could not give an accurate price over the phone. A phone estimate without testing or inspecting the vehicle is rarely correct and this is especially true with vehicles built in the last ten to twelve years. I know this to be true because we have over 35 years in the automotive repair business and have seen this more than once. The cost of repairs is based on the cost of the parts and the time spent testing and repairing the vehicle. We use nationally recognized standards for both. When this vehicle was towed in, the customer was informed of the cost to test the vehicle. Before any repairs were begun the customer was given a complete and accurate estimate for the cost to replace the starter. I believe our price to be a completive price within our market place for a quality part and professional automotive repair. Thank you, Mike Suddeth Suddeth Automotive
